Got the email with the 'special offer' buy miles and get 70% "extra free". For $1875 I can get 125,000+ 87,500 extra total of 212,500

i reckon if I can pick up a one way for 100,000 or less, I save around $2000 (Fla-LHR)per flight, so I am looking at 2 or 3 flights for $1875 total, could save $2-4000

I'm trying to think 'why not' ? Any thoughts ?

Your perceived savings seem on the high side. Have you factored in the surcharges for reward bookings ($2k return) and can you actually find reward avail for 100,000 each way?

Looks like a ‘cheap’ cash fare is $5k, and a lot more available across the year than 100,000 UC seats.

Crazy to think a couple of years ago it was less than 100,000 for a return.

it's possible but not easy. fortunately I can be flexible on dates and airports. I recently picked up a IAD-LHR-Mia return for less than 100k all in , thats early 27 my next trip after that would be June/July and of course there is nothing released yet

i also have miles already and 2 vouchers to use either to top up or for a companion.....
