VS Tier Points and KLM Cityhopper flights

Hi Guys.
Quick question
Are the KLM Cityhopper flights eligible for tier point earning, I understand that the KLM fare codes
have to be eligible, Its just the Cityhopper part that I cant get a straight answer out of anyone so
was wondering if anyone has done this and can confirm either way.

Yes, I can confirm flights operated by KLM Cityhopper do indeed earn the same VS tier points as KLM mainline flights. Just as long as you are on the right fare code.

I recently flew MAN>AMS on KLM mainline connecting to AMS>VLC which was operated by KLM Cityhopper for a work trip. I received 10 TP’s for each flight leg on an economy fare. Both flight legs also showed full Sky Priority SkyTeam Elite+ status.

Many thanks for the reply, thats what I wanted to hear However since posting earlier today I have spoken to two different people at VA and they both confirmed that the Cityhopper flights do not earn Virgin TPs.

One was a lady on the phone who had to go and check, she came back with the response..."Only KLM PRIME" flights earn !, The other person was on the webchat, intitially she told me you can only earn Virgin TPs on Virgin metal , I informed her that I earned TPs on an Air France flight in May, she went away and came back with the same "Only KLM Prime Flights" earn TPs.

I am almost certain if the flight has a KLM flight no and the fare code is correct I will earn on both KLM and KLM Cityhopper, I cannot believe in this day and age someone at Virgin is a manually checking and adding TPs, it must be automated.

Its a bit of gamble as I want to book a two return business class tickets via AMS to BCN hopefully earning 160 (40 x 4) TPs.

Well, all I can say is there were no issues here with my KLM Cityhopper U economy fare flight:

As you show your flight was clearly cityhopper operated and VS TP honoured .

I might just take the plunge and see what happens .
