Looks like Hong Kong airport is pretty confident VS will be flying to Sydney from 1st September. They're even publishing the flight number VS500 on their website at http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/flig ... nerdep.jsp

Seems good news.
I wonder how the tier points will 'work' on a LHR to Sydney ticket. For UC, will it be 5 or 10 for the total one way trip? I have bought SQ Raffles class to Sydney via Singapore and the total trip has yielded 20 VS tier points and hence a long way to AU renewal on just one trip.

I wonder also if VS will continue to award tier points on SQ flights to Sydney as these will be competing. You can get Raffles class to Sydney for less than £2.5k.
