Hi all,

Just noticed the offer on the BMI website for 20,000 free Diamond Club miles if you get their branded Credit Card. I was just wondering if anyone knew if these miles were transferable in any way to a Flying Club account, but if not what would 20k in Diamond Club miles buy compared to 20k in FC miles?

Cheers,

Darryl

Hi Darryl

Just had a quick look at BMI and VS. They are not transferable.

20,000 FC miles will get you a one way economy flight to the US to any VS destination (you would only need 19,500 if you book online with VS current promo).

With BMI (or another *A partner) you would need 22,500 for the same one way economy flight

Ah, shame you can't add them to the FC account but 20k in DC miles would be handy for the LHR - MAN route from time to time! Anyone know how many miles would be required for this short domestic hop?

12000 miles for a return economy flight LHR-MAN or 18000 for business class return

That's not too bad really. It'd give me one cheap hop back up home at least! Do business-class fares get access to the Diamond Club lounge regardless of tier level?

Hi randalf,

Business class fares ( all tpyes ) give you access to the bmi business lounges ( same location as the Diamond club lounge) regardelss of DC status.

At LHR & EDI there is a separate section ( swipe card access) for bmi DC Silver & Gold Holders -much the same as the business lounge except slightly better snacks ( quieter too).

I'm always confused by this - do Virgin and Amex provide access to the SAME lounge or different ones with bmi?

Same lounge - the upstairs Diamond lounge is for the Silver and Gold BD Club members.

Thanks,
Richard
