Article from todays Telegraph:

Virgin Mobile yesterday said it was looking at a possible £1.3billion float in the summer as a means of raising funds for Sir Richard Branson's dream of launching an airline in the US.

A spokesman said yesterday a flotation was "one of many options" the mobile phone group was exploring. Other options include debt financing or issuing high-yield bonds. It is thought a flotation could value the company at £1.3billion.

The spokesman said a final decision has not been made yet, adding the funds would be used to set up an airline in America. Last year, Sir Richard successfully floated Virgin Blue, the Australian low-cost airline. If an IPO does go ahead, it would be the first of Sir Richard's business to list in London since he took Virgin private in the late 1980s.
