Flying Club membership number changed

Well this is strange...

Checked my FC account today and my membership number has changed completely! Used to start 0063..., but now starts 0064... with all subsequent numbers replaced too.

I'm on Red, and still need three more tier points for Silver, so why has this happened? [?]

Seems strange. The only time my number changed was when I went up to silver and back to red again.

Give VS a ring to see if they can shed a light. [i]

Well, I phoned them up and was told that it had, indeed, changed. No real explanation Ð something to do with registering online [?]

Shame really, 'cos my last number was VERY easy to remember.

Got my new membership card today and my last 6 digits have changed!
The first digits remain at 009...

Yep, I love those numbers. My current 009 number is VERY easy to remember also, and usually gets a comment when I quote it over the phone. My best one though was my original 007 number, again very easy plus loads of BOND comments.
