Just been reading the news and "Big Willie Walsh" at BA says he's spending £200m on improved passenger comfort and new seats in Club World. And in the same breath he said they would have to make more redundancies.

They must be some seats!

Anybody seen them yet or know who's producing them?

Thanx

If only the airline buisness was that simple,I could go into a long winded thing about cost structures etc,but these two things are not connected.

The majority of the job cuts at BA are coming from the closing of money losing retail outlets and the closing of a call center.

EDIT: may as well answer the question as well [:I],I havn't seen them but from what im hearing the bed in NNCW is alot better, for me it was to hard or are you talking about the NNNCW?

Welcome to the site, Sanchez [y]

(There's been talk of NNNCW on FlyerTalk for a heck of a long time already. Speculation began last summer - so I would have thought it'll be launching soon..)

I actually hope they change the name to avoid reference to NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNCW etc :D

I guess the refits would be done at the same time as they have AVOD fitted, which I understand should happen to all the long haul aircraft.

It certainly will be very interesting to see BA's new seats - I think FIRST is getting a revamp also. I read somewhere ( Flyertalk probably ) that the refit is due to be complete by end of next year (?) so it's going to lead to the same kind of uncertainty about chances of getting new seats on a flight that VS had with the Suite ( and still does [n] )

To answer the question, I think there's little information around at the moment.

Thanks,

David.

The uncertainty about whether you get certain seats or not is just a phase airlines have to go through if they want to improve.:D

Hmm, just as BA introduce new J seats, no doubt to a great fanfare, VS are will be rolling out new PE and Y seats (though not across the whole fleet). Nice to see that VS are keeping one step ahead of the competition.

We shall, but stay tuned to V-Flyer, as we tend to hear all the good stuff here first!:D

And welcome aboard, by the way.

When VS first rolled out UCS, you still had a much higher chance than when BA roll out the NGCW seats as they have a much larger fleet.
