My favourite has to be Verdes in Eccleston, near Chorley, Lancashire. About 20mins drive from Wigan and Preston. Although it describes itself as serving international cuisine, a lot of the food is Italian.
The quality of the food is first class, and mostly consistent, which is good considering the place is busy every night of the week.[oo] The waiters and waitresses are really friendly and some of them humorous. The prices are reasonable too on most dishes, and there is a good selection of Italian and international wines.
Since this restaurant is really popular, I'd advise you to book a table several days in advance, but is worth it[y]
Another favourite is Di Maggio's in Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow city centre, next to the Modern Art Gallery. I always like to visit this place whenever I'm in the city, and I am never disappointed. They have several restaurants in the Glasgow area as well in Hamilton, East Kilbride and Airdrie.
