Mastercard Miles under calculated

Hi All,

Tried searching for this, but had no luck. Spent £15k on the VS Mastercard card last month and so should have been credited with 30k miles, but only 11k or so. Any idea who to call to question this? Spoke to MBNA they said call members shop. Members shop say call MBNA [?]

Members shop were definitely the people for missing miles, MBNA CS were generally clueless on such matters.

Did you make any large purchases towards the end of your statement? Sometimes not all of the spend on your statement immediately transfers to miles, and these carry over to being credited when next months statement hits. Members shop should be able to tell you if this is the case.

I take it you did not cash in your MC for the AmEx then?

Will give them a go. Nope, holding firmly onto the Mastercard until December 31st - no one accepts Amex, I know as a BA Amex holder!

So here is the answer - and for once it seems plausible. The mileage is not calculated as per the statement dates, but cuts off a few days before with the remainder being carried forward to next month. Just so happened I spent a whole load right at the end of the month.

Will keep a close eye on next months statement...
