Nice rate.

FYI MGM is at $99 this weekend coming.

I pulled a report that shows what occupancy level the town is at, right now the hotels are look at an average of 40% rooms sold through sunday, very very low levels for Vegas so there should be some bargins floating around.

Is that a normal level for Thanksgiving weekend Dave? Is it because most people stay home with their families?

That's a nice rate. I'm going to be staying at Mandalay Bay over Xmas and NYE as a change from Luxor - the 30/31 Dec rates are pretty steep still!

That's a reasonable point about the Luxor, it's not looking reat and I think they are already beginning to do something. Some minor names have changed, e.g. Nile Deli is now Stage Deli and Nile Bar is Play Bar.

So, this lends credibility to the idea that they will abandon the Egyptian theme. A more extreme story I heard was that they would implode the whole thing and start again, but I would think there are others in line for that ahead of the Luxor.

The Mandalay Bay is very nice incidentally. I found the Sushi Bar at the Coral Reef Lounge and Burger Bar at Mandalay Place particularly delightful places. Thanks also to Barry for suggesting Fleur de Lys. I had a new year's eve meal there, and the food and service were both very good.

Within MGM-Mirage; Circus Circus and Excalibur are both likely to go before Luxor.

My pleasure, didn't make it there this trip but did get to Prime (as you know) and Bouchon, where we had a great meal.
