Having now developed a taste for the "Big Apple" I'm planning a surprise trip for my Aunty's 80th Birthday in September !

If it was me, I'd take the Transit System to Manhattan but I was wondering if anyone knew if the taxis from Newark into Manhattan are at a fixed rate like JFK ? Can't find any mention on the airport web site.

Also roughly how long is the journey ?

Using Newark so that we can arrive at 7PM, and catch the daytime flight back !

Any help would be great :D

Thank you.

If I recall, the taxis from EWR are a fixed price, PLUS tolls, for most destinations. I know the queues there can be quite long.

Journey time should be fairly quick, 45 minutes from getting in the taxi to most places mid-town, subject to traffic, of course!
The train is still probably a better idea, or check some websites for airport car transfers, which should be similar prices to the taxi service, and the advantage of being booked specifically for your Aunty, rather than queueing in the craziness of EWR.
