Having flown many times to Bangalore via Delhi, I am going this weekend via Mumbai. Changing from the VS flight (arr terminal 2A?) to a Jet Airways flight to Bangalore (dep terminal 1B?). Any advice on travelling from one terminal to the other? Any other tips about Mumbai airport?

Thanks
Chris

The terminals are quite a long way apart, certainly you cannot walk. Some people advise taking a cab, I don't, it takes a very circuitous route out of the airport and in - added to Mumbai traffic that can be a bore. The airport puts on coaches for transit between domestic and international terminals, so head for one of those, they are quite clearly signposted near the exit from the baggage hall. The coach travels along an internal airport road and you can get a great view of the planes (be carefull of snapping away though, Mumbai can be used for military aircraft and the authorities may not be best pleased). The coaches are not that pleasant but perfectly OK. The people who stow your cases in the coach will expect a tip for their trouble, and 20 Rupees suffices.

Sounds very much like Delhi which is what I wanted to know. As long as there is an internal coach and it's relatively easy to find, that's fine.

Thanks

I have not had a problem with taxis in Mumbai.

The coach broke down when we used it and we spent 45 minutes "simmering" in it before being rescued by another coach, everyone I have spoken to have used the coach as it is the quickest route.

We are flying Jet in November, how do you rate them? Do you use their Business Cabin?

We found Mumbai Airports to be busy, but apart from that we had no problems. As you will be aware everyone wants to carry your case!! Mumbai is no different.

I've used Jet a lot and been very pleased with them. Don't think they've done anything bad while I've been around.

On Jet I presume you mean from UK-India or internal in India. My colleagues fly Jet all the time to India and say its pretty good in economy. I think their business is OK-ish but personally prefer Emirates or VS if it goes where I want.

Within India Jet is perfectly OK, similar room/layout to most airlines. No booze of course (banned on internal flights), always a meal. However I prefer Kingfisher, especially business. All Kingfisher seats have TVs and about 8 channels plus audio, meals, towels, drinks, amenity packs (pretty basic but they do have them). Business in Kingfisher is excellent space wise and service wise, from check-in through to arrival.

I have only used them internally. I was due to take one Kingfisher leg on this trip but it got changed. I was quite looking forward to trying them out.

Sounds like you may go to India as much as I do. Must look out in case we cross paths ...

Internal for BOM - GOA and return.

Normally use Indian business class, thought we would try Jet as we had heard good reports.

Thanks for the Kingfisher tip, we are back in November so will try Kingfisher then.

Thank you
