Anyone used Thomsonfly on their new "improved" longhaul service (33 in leg room, seatback TVs etc). Mr DL has decreed that he can't wait until August for his next holiday so we're planning a week away in June (minus Dragonbaby).
He doesn't fancy anywhere in Europe (the truth is he's desperate to go back to Vegas but the flight prices are horrific for next month and I don't want to use miles[}:)]),so the dilemma is either to schlep to LHR/LGW to go somewhere (which is a pain at the best of times but bearable if your going somewhere nice in UC:D) or fly from CWL (25 mins door to door)to a longhaul destination offered by Thomsonfly.
I haven't used a charter airline for many a year now so have no idea what they offer these days -much the same sort of experience as the LCCs I suppose though and probably no worse that a bad flight with VS in Y (to DXB incidentally). The two destinations currently under surveillance are Florida (again[:0]) and Mexico (which are coming up at the same price as decent hotels in Cyprus and the Algarve).Mexico is more appealing (as we've never been) but either will suffice (I'd be happy to go anywhere bit it's Mr DL who's being awkward as his "won't go to" list is pretty exhaustive ).Any sharing of recent experiences of Thomsonfly or Mexico would be gratefully accepted.
Thanks
Julie
PS Didn't know whether to post in travel or other airlines so mods please move if neccessary.

The new Thomsonfly LH service was only due to go live from the end of this month IIRC and I have been keeping an eye out for any reports of the new service and haven't seen any yet so not sure its fully operational. AFAIK 1 a/c was being re-fitted in Feb with the rest due April/May.

We used them in Feb to Jamaica with the old service and lack of legroom, and the flights are very sales orientated, with drinks priced very keenly.....for the Airline[V], crew very unspectacular. The new service looks ok, meals from Aldo Zilli (sp?), seat back tv's, (I have to say the 4 films choices available to us were utter dross!), 33" in Y etc, but I have to say we would not be prepared to fly LH with them again and in fact the 2 flights we took have made us swear never to fly Y LH again!.
