US departure cards

Mrs Barfly arrived back from Atlanta today with the departure bit of her green visa waiver form still in her passport.I remember this being disscussed a while ago but I have failed to find it by searching.I feel the need to check out any possible implications next time we visit the US.Thanks in advance for any info.

A few years ago mine got left in by good ole BA at BOS. Later that year in SFO, no problems, not even mentioned. After all, they can tell you have left when you try to enter.

LOL - this has happened to me three times now in the last year. Each time, when returning I've given it to the immigration official who usually sighs and makes no comment. Also, each time I've been within the 90 days visa period so technically I have entered twice and not left [?]

No worries at all- happened a couple of times to me.

If she used the US-VISIT scheme that is in trial in ATL then she will be fine as its the same as the departure card.

Happened to the other half, who spoke with the American Embassy. They suggested it was a good idea to send it back to the Embassy keeping a copy of it and the covering letter and your previous departure boarding pass....just in case you meet a less than friendly immigration person!

I did this, after studying the Alerican Embassy site (for a while, it was less than clear to me!) I did ask them to email me back, to confirm receipt of the cards, but they didn't bother to reply, and I sweated on the next time I went to the US. As others have said here though, there was no problem....

This page states it's very importmant that you send it back to the US address mentioned as it could have an impact on future visits to the US.

Just to clear this up in my head...are you talking about the I-94 ?
