We stayed here during our jaunt to HK. The hotel is situated in Mong Kok about a minutes walk from Mong Kok MTR.
As we used FC miles for the flight decided to splash out on a nice hotel and so booked a Langham Place Club Room. Booked over the net and got a long stay discount. Decided to avail ourseleves of the Limo service at $500HK per car. Very conveniently located just outside arrivals and were greeted with cold towels, cold drink and newpapers. A little man took care of the luggage for us and took us down to the pick up area called the car over and loaded our luggage in. Very nice Merc.
Arrived at the hotel and escorted to the Club Lounge for check in. Again cold drinks and towels offered. Our room was on 35th floor looking east but we could still see the harbour and the island.
Whilst not a huge room it was very very comfortable. A huge US style sized bed suitable to land a helicopter on. Ihome, 42in plasma TV etc etc. All in all just what was required.
A slight digression here - we did overhear someone complaining the room was too small and he didn't want to make a fuss but .... [:o)] Why do people say that when they obvioulsy are? The room sizes if I remember correctly are on the website. And also he wanted to inspect his mother in-laws room as she was very fussy cleaninesswise, but he did add his room was lovely and clean though. We were both taken aback by the claim to have a mother in-law as we had both clocked he was on our team as it were.[}:)]
Back to the report.
We used the Club to its full - with alcohol being available between 0600 and 0100 and this included champagne. The pool on the 41st floor was novel and made for a relaxing getaway with spectacular views. All the staff we encountered were nothing short of charming and polite and all requests dealt with quickly and effiently.
I had always fancied staying at the Peninsula but the costs were too excessive and as I had previously stayed in Mong Kok didn't have a problem staying there again. Indeed with all the construction work taking place around the Pen and also over on the Island am glad we stayed at the LP. If we go back to HK we will definitely stay here again.
Out of pure decadence, just to finish the holiday off we had a limo back to the airport.
