CAA are proposing quite significant increases for Airlines to use LHR & LGW to help pay for "improvements". Another cost to be passed on to the pax!

However, if and only if these improvements provide real benefit and competitiveness over other airports in the region (eg. FRA, CDG) will the improvements be worthwhile. Having said that, I still don't see why the government isn't paying.
Was an above-inflation rise always on the cards to pay for the improvements or are the various projects over-budget?
