I may have missed this on here, but I was wondering if someone could answer this about the PE upgrades from Virgin Amex. I have qualified for my companion ticket, which has appeared on my flying club statement. I have therefore qualified for at least one complimentary upgraded, but wonder therefore why this hasn't appeared on my statement. Do they get added throughout the year, or only at the end???

The PE upgrade vouchers get credited on your anniversary date, though the companion voucher gets added as soon as you have reached the required spend. Give MBNA a call and they can advise which month your anniversary date is, and therefore when they'll be credited.

Thanks,
Sarah

Sorry to resurrect this, I'm sure someone here will have an instant answer! Have just looked at my FC statement for the first time in a while and noticed the following was added on 19/11:

19 Nov 2007 VAA Credit Card Econ>Premium Reward Upgrade
19 Nov 2007 VAA Credit Card Econ>Premium Reward Upgrade

Is it simply a case that, as I must have spent £10K on my MBNA Black Amex, I've qualified for two T->U vouchers? I'm sure last year I didn't get two credited on the same date, but can't check as the on-line statement only displays the last year's worth of entries?

Just need to decide when/where to use this little windfall [y]

It should be that simple, James. That's exactly how it happened for me earlier in the year, with both upgrade vouchers appearing in my FC account when due.

Thanks,
Sarah

Do you ever need an excuse for a last minute trip to NYC or BOS? :D

Thanks,

We spent well over the limit for the companion voucher, but when I checked it still has a 0 on the statement, any ideas as to what I can do. Polite answers please. Thanx

When you say it has a 0 next to it, do you mean a zero in the 'mileage' and 'tier points' column? If so, thats normal. As long as its mentioned in your FC statement, usually as 'VAA Credit Card Companion Flight Qualification' then you are good to go (or go book!)

If it isnt listed on your FC statement yet, call MBNA and tell them, they can chase it up for you.

Thanks,
Sarah

Thanks Sarah,

It is listed on the statement with a 0 next to it, I thought it meant I didn't qualify for one.
