More a general-interest link rather than anything that impinges on Virgin's territory, but it's surprising(?) to see the low-cost model not always raking the in the profits, a la Ryanair.

Several papers write that "five-thousand holidaymakers were stranded at airports across Britain yesterday after budget airline EasyJet forgot to insure half its fleet." The report says that "forty planes were grounded when the company forgot to put renewed insurance documents on board and they were not allowed to take off with out of date papers."

Added to all of this, is that Air France bought KLM yesterday:- another airline NOt to fly with then [V]
