“To make a reservation, please call the airline direct. Remember to quote your membership number when booking and to show your card at check in. Keep all original copies of your tickets and boarding passes until the correct amount of miles appear on your statement.” - VS Website

I will be taking a flight with Delta this September, am I able to give my Virgin FC Membership number and accrue miles on my Virgin account rather than earning Delta Skymiles? Are there any special T&C’s?

Many thanks.

PS: Have any of you flown in BusinessElite? I know it won't compare with VS but what is their transatlantic service like?

Just give them your FC number when booking and at check-in, it does depend on what fare you book wheather you'll earn FC miles or not - if you are in business class it shouldn't be a problem though :)

Delta fare codes that earn FC miles are:

First - F,A
Business - J,C,D,I
Economy - Y,B,M,K,Q,H,L,U,T

I can confirm that VA miles turn up on the delta account, though delayed by 6 weeks in some instance, so a report on the reverse would be nice.

A pain is that VA does not honour Delta FF status at LHR whereas it does
in IAD.

Hi rcslt

Yes, Delta should take your FC number and send the appropriate miles/TP accross accordingly. I had some problems getting DL to accept that VS were indeed a mileage partner, but I don't know if that was just down to mis-education in SLC & MCO [V]

It can take some time for the miles to appear, and my advice is to definitely follow VS' recommendations on keeping the documentation in case you have to do a missing miles claim - have just had to provide all that stuff myself (and by tickets, I'm presuming they mean the e-ticket or paper ticket receipt, since you generally have to hand tickets over at check-in [8D])

Cheers

Whilst we're on the thread of Delta, does Delta Song flights qualify for FC miles??

I've got a couple of flights lined up later this year with them and can't seem to find any mention of 'song' routes anywhere.
