virgin credit card

New Member so hi all,
i have a virgin credit card with the 2 points per £1 , pay £80-00 a year. Apart fron the double points and normal credit card travel insurance etc etc are there any specific point collecting bonuses i should be aware of. As is normal with me i did not read all the literature when i applied, just saw 4000 intro bonus and 6 months interest free.

I have not seen any other earning bonuses yet ( apart from the 4,000 initial bonus)

Still it is a reasonable card.

re read my post and didn't make myself clear; i've read elsewhere about a companion ticket if spend over £15,000. Its these sort of things i was after rather than periodic special bonuses.

The companion ticket is just like you said spend over 15k in the year and a companion ticket will show up on your FC account.They do work I have already used 2 of them.I have not come accross any other bonus miles apart from 2000 as a freebie when my accounts were cocked up just after launch when virgin travel shop points were credited instead of FC miles.

Any advantages if you use the card to book flights direct with virgin?

No just 2 miles per pound if its the fee card 1 mile per pound non fee card this would be a great benefit to match the recent amex gold offer.

Just got my 2 miles for £1 VS Credfit Card.

So annoyed that they don't offer the miles bonus to Credit Card cheques as my biggest account don't accept normal CC payments.

I'm missing out on about 50k miles a year because of this!

Obviously if this information is wrong please let me know.

Look at the T&Cs for the use of credit card cheques very closely as the charges can be horrendous on large amounts, interest is charged from the moment the cheque is cashed as per a cash advance and a charge is put on for using the cheque up to 25/30 quid ceiling.The interest they charge on large ballances is daylight robbery.I cocked a payment up on a ballance of 5-6k ish under paid by 56p and was chrged nearly 130 quid and it rolled over to the next month as well.

I totally agree with Chris here - I cannot see how the cheques can ever be a good deal - mine went straight in the bin.

If you are ever in Australia and decide to use your VS card, not only will you receive your points / miles, but you also receive additional discounts on your purchases in certain stores. (not sure which ones they are).
