Hi,
I did a search but couldn't find anything. EK had its first A380 delivered and will start its maiden flight to NY.

Here is the link.

First Class has showers and an onboard bar! Looks amazing!

Thanks Dominic

That looks very cool, though the showers seem a bit unnecessary.

I think there is a problem with the link, when I click on it it sends me to a hospital in Florida[?]

You'll need to copy and paste the entire link - its being interpreted as ending at the .com whereas its actually .com.au/etcetc

You should compare UCS to the business offering, I think the showers are first class. Who knows what Uncle Richard might put on his A380s [:w]

I seem to recall a programme with that ever-so-nice Bruce Dickinson where he tried out the shower. I looked as if you would get wetter using a hand sprayer.

True... but it looks like bus and first share the onboard lounge.. it looks pretty good.. and its also going to be available in 2008 unlike the virgin A380 which is a few years away...

UCS is still reasonably class leading over most VS routes. My guess is that they'll pay more attention to BA when they get A380s approx 1 year earlier than VS. They won't want to be outdone by BA.

I read on a businesstraveller.com review that the J seats have 2 versions of pitch -

'The stats are as follows: seat pitch is 39 and 48 inches, which extends to form 70 to 79-inch lie-flat beds. What that means is that if you go for an outside seat, you get more legroom both for sitting and sleeping, while the inside seats have less.'

BA is about to reveal its new First, later this year or early next, I suppose they will go with this on the 380 with not so many new innovations. First on BA will always be superiod to UCS IMO.

Well, when VS receive its 380s, UCS will be getting on for ten year's old ... who'd like a guess on what NUCS will look like then? I did like the cake stands and sandwiches on the bar though, just like the old days of UCS [:w] ... and of course, all the people will be beautiful, just like the video, no tubby old businessmen!

I'll be at JFK for the 046 on Friday so will look out for the Emirates 380, I did get an invite to chance my EK miles on a first class trip on this special inaugural, but current travel prevented this [:#].
