Well as it is 1.40 in the morning and I am searching for things to do, I decided to look for silly routes for our trip to London later in the year. For the first time in a few years we have the time to play silly buggers with our flights, meaning spending an extra day in say Amsterdam or Paris isn't going to kill us.
LAX - LON Sept 10th return the 17th, dates are flexible.
The silly routes comprised of airlines I have not flown, routes I normally would not consider, the normal anorak thing [:I]
First Air Canada
Their fleet is getting a very nice upgrade up front, but the 40 minute connection time is a little tight for me, though there is a later flight so if we miss it then we can move to that one. the $3100 price is nice as well.
For some reason Aer Lingus is reaching out to me..however they don't fly out to SFO until OCt, but I check out of JFK for kicks...
Let's see $4685 in J mmmm NOT, not to mention that the connection to LHR leaves an hour and a half BEFORE we land, ok EI you have proved yourself to me.
L'Avion....
Now this is interesting.
$700 each way out of EWR plus I earn BA miles, spend a day in Paris then eurostar it over to London
Air Tahiti
Well the dates are a little off, but I have heard great things about them but $3500 plus all the switching around in Paris, not worh the hassle.
Fin air
$5k...nope stop right there..plus I still have my nordic ban to work around
Air New Zealand
$3700.... However I can also try and get a reward flight for the far better half, the food is far better than VS.
And just to compare
VS
$3600
BA
$3800
AA
$3900 !
The other things that I am seeing, which is really annoying the hell out of me..
Taxes + fee's
VS $645 CO $206 BA $707 WTF ???
