About time!! T2 and Queens building were due to be knocked down last year in prep for the building of Heathrow East (or T2B as BAA seem to be calling it internally now..) to be ready for 2012. Having an office in Queens meant I spent a lot of time in T2 over the years and agree that it is ready for replacement now!!!

to be ready for 2012.

But the link above states:
'Construction of the first phase is due to be completed in 2013'
'The second phase will run to 2019'
So much for 2012 - construction!

I popped into T2 a while back just for a nosey. It feels like Deaths Waiting Room.

Yep, it was decided a while back that the much publicized (internally) message of being ready for 2012 wasn't achievable.. Queens building is now closed and empty and if you look out of the window at T2 next to Duty free you'll see the work already well underway for HET.

About time!!! T2 isn't the best passenger experience, I can't stand up full in the check in area without hitting the signs as i'm walking through.

Was in there briefly in early July, quite eerie now that *A have all moved out to T1. Was funny checking the place out. Shouldn't be any problems standing up in the new terminal [;)]
