Hello

I know VS is a not (link below) I believe some airlines do. I recall being offered electronic cigarettes on Easyjet a couple of years ago, but not sure if they still do!

I think that nicotine replacement products are all ok - although looking at the VS website "The use of a ‘stop smoking’ aid is not permitted if it could in any way give the impression to other passengers that smoking is allowed on board." - I know that covers the electronic and smokeless cigarrettes......but waht about the nicorette inhalator?

This is the reply I had from VS:-

"Virgin Atlantic does not permit the use of electronic cigarettes or nicotine inhalers on the grounds of safety. We have concerns that passengers smoking electronic cigarettes or using nicotine inhalers may give the impression to others that smoking real cigarettes is permitted on board.

Whilst they provide no safety risks in themselves it may be difficult for other passengers and or crew to recognise the difference between real cigarettes and electronic cigarettes/inhalers, which could lead to real cigarettes being smoked inadvertently, thus causing safety issues.

There is also a real concern that other passengers may take offence to someone using these devices, as there is still little information on the vapour emitted by them."

Although I cannot, for the life of me understand how someone could mistake an inhaler (in a similar form to an asthmatic inhaler) for a cigarette :?

Mouthsprays are fine. I have one and have used it onboard. The only things that are restricted are anything that looks like a cigarette, as it may give other passengers the impression that they're able to smoke onboard.

The mouthspray is utterly disgusting, but it gets you through a 12 hour flight.
