Has anybody noticed that certain transactions do not get miles.

My last statement had amounts from both IKEA and Travelbag (not a small amount) and neither were awarded miles. The key seems to be those companies that charge a fee for using the credit card - I notice that neither transcation had GB against it in the statement.

Can retailers simply opt out of the miles rewards or does MC take it as a cash advance?

Phil,

I certainly haven't noticed this, and would be peeved if it happened to me. [:(!]

A couple of questions, how do you know it was these transactions that didn't get the miles?

Have you rung the Members Shop about it?

I have noticed that, very often, the last few transactions on my monthly statement don't get points on that month's transfer, but they make up for it the following month.

Bufft

I have to say that apart from one month when for some reason there were no points on any transactions, for a period of about 4 days, I have never NOT received my points as per agreement.

As Nick says ring the members shop for clarification.[y]

Hey Nick,

Haven't called members shop yet - wanted to see whether anyone had had this happen.

Can never be sure about which transcations but the Travelbag amount made up about 70% of the statement so pretty certain that this one did not get miles. Also the transaction was towards the beginning of the monthly cycle so no way that it didn't quite get on. Just happened to notice that these two transcations did not have GB against them so was curious if anyone else had a problem.

Will call members shop when I get a chance - but not around too much today so may have to be tomorrow.

Thanks for help so far,

Good luck with it, Phil. Keep us informed.

I can't see that a company who supply goods / services can treat the tranaction as a cash advance or similar....... but then again, I have been surprised before. [:(][:(]

Just a quick update.

Called the Member Shop - quickly picked up, very helpful and polite.

They were unable to sort out the problem and have passed it on to their technical people to look at and give me a call back in the next couple of days.

Watch this space!!

Sorry if I am telling you something that you already know, but my understanding is that the monthly date for calculation of FCCC miles is not the same date as your monthly statement. Ergo, it will always be a little difficult to fully reconcile the mile credited with the spend on your card.

Problem sorted.

Members Shop called back tonight to confirm there had been a mistake and that the additional miles would be credited on the next statement.

They did not seem to be able to explain what the problem had been.

Ian, Did know that - not the case this time - thanks.
