Also news is that Irish government and Ryanair are prepared to sell their stakes - BA is prime contender to snap them up.

If so it means BA return to Ireland and N. Ireland. What goes round etc. etc.

I'm sure someone on here said they were going to be flying with them soon and was gonna do a TR to tell us all what it's like long haul in that class.

I think they flew with them earlier this year but I'm not sure if they did a TR.

Aer Lingus is rapidly becoming the DFS of the skies. No sooner have they finished one fare sale than another starts. Some of the European offers are great - €0 + taxes. A couple of years ago my son gave me a voucher for Christmas and from it I was able to get trips to Lisbon, Vienna, Amsterdam and London from it.

The business class fares to my mind are not so good and I have generally found VS cheaper.

My son has applied for a job in finance at Aer Lingus and has had interviews and an aptitude test. If he is successful I will see to it that he gets preferential rates for all V-Flyers wanting to cross the atlantic!! :o) :w

I had a look at their website and they promise "restaurant quality" food in business class. :)

I agree that £1600 doesn't really seem that great a price. The US immigration pre-clearance is quite attractive to me, but flying via Dublin would presumably more than wipe out the time saved!
