Amex rewards & Emirates

Now from what I can see AMEX don't have a converstion deal with Emirates, which seems odd given their Plat flight deals.

In terms of collecting Emirates points via spend, is this possible through AMEX? Also heard some routing by converting to SPG then on to skywards?

Any advise welcome ?|
