Hotels in/near EWR

Hi V-flyers,

Due to appointments constricting the routing of my trip from LHR to YYZ at the end of May, I have to get a hotel room in or near Newark Airport. I arrive on the VS17 and the onward flight is at 1pm the next day. Do you guys have any recommendations? Cheap and cheerful would be great, but if they are far away I will go for the expensive options to stay close to/in EWR unless they have shuttles.

Any info would be appreciated

Marriott have a property which is walking distance across a car park from the EWR Terminals.

I belive Mr and Mrs Buns stayed there on their lasy trip to the NYC area. I can think of no better recommendation that that !

Last year overnighted at the Hilton, however ended waiting bloody ages for transfer bus, and the road system around there is mind boggling..hotel was actually fine, but bit of a pain to get to from even though close as the crow flies.
I'd plug for the reccomendation below.

Another vote for the Marriot here. Very clean and comfortable, extremely close to the terminal and reasonably priced. y)

Marriott here too...was there a couple of weeks ago and you can't go far wrong with the hotel. Across the car park from Terminal B is so convenient when arriving on VS17 in particular.

Yes the major selling oint for us was that you merely walked across the car park to get to the Marriott. That said there is a good shuttle servive

Thanks very much guys! This helps greatly. I was considering the Hilton because of some bad trip advisor reviews on the Marriott; but no one understands my needs like fellow V-Flyers so your advice will be taken. I'll let you know how it goes.
