So the Euro is in trouble what with Greece and Spain etc etc.
The pound is falling against the Dollar and I'm wanting to know if you THINK it will return back over the next couple of months. With the Olympics in August I would imagine the rate should improve slightly.
I know that no-one will know for sure etc etc but I'm wanting to purchase alot of dollars for my next trip in August and with a pretty shoddy rate at the minute I'm in too minds.

Many thanks for your views.

As you rightly say, unfortunately nobody knows. There are a few 'experts' out there if you search the web but they seem to change their mind daily and really there are so many factors that anyone has much control over, so it really is guesswork.

I only buy my currency a couple of weeks before I go, sometimes I win as the rate is good (like for my May trip I got $1.62), other times I have lost as it as just fallen, but over a few trips it usually evens itself out.

All you can do is buy when you are happy and once bought why worry about it, there is nothing you can do even if it does change upwards.

Agree Neil, people seem to spend thousands on there trips then complain about the FX rate, depends "whats a lot of dollars" is,most people seem to take between $2500.00/$3500.00 as a family, working on a $0.11 cents diff=$385.00

Well I'm kicking myself that I didn't purchase my dollars a couple of weeks ago then it was €1.30 to the dollar. The euro has since plummeted to €1.23 :#

TBH with the amount of £/$ that most tourists will convert wont make that much difference.

Last year the rate when I converted was changing day by day from 1:1.54 and 1:1.53 and up and down smaller incrementsand I thought 'lost a lot there' but with the amount I was taking it was only a couple $ difference.

£500 @ $ 1.53 = $765
£500 @ £ 1.55 = £775

$10 is hardly worth sweating over
