Earlier this year Orlando International Airport produced a press release - http://www.orlandoairports.net/press/2013/20130517.htm about the introduction of self-service kiosks expected during the summer.

As there had been no further official information on this I contacted OIA and received the following reply:

Thank you for contacting Orlando International Airport.

Although the Self-Processing Kiosks have been installed, we are still awaiting approval from Customs & Border Protection (CBP) to connect them to the CBP system. We initially thought that this approval would come in time for a summer launch, but we now anticipate a launch this autumn. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to expedite this launch, which will provide MCO with the first kiosks in the U.S .for processing non-U.S. residents, as we are very keen to complete this project and once again provide a superior experience for our arriving international passengers.

Thank you for your comments, and for continuing to choose MCO.

Reading the link what it does is automate some of the entry process - checking passport, taking finger prints etc - but you then still have to see an agent.

I guess how well they work will depend on how many of them are available and how easy they are to use - especially for those with kids.
