No tiresome queues or soggy sandwiches … what is it like to part of the A-list on a luxury flight to New York (via Shannon)?

from The Observer

Well if you want to know what the BA CWLCY service is like then this is the article NOTto read.

I've read some pretty dire puff pieces in my life but this one has to be the worst. BA must be regretting paying for the ticket!

It starts with a picture of the 'journalist' boarding the flight - but a 747 at LHR and goes very rapidly down hill from there!

So why don't you post your TR of the flight so that we can all see what it's like. v( |:)

I can fully understand your frustrations tonty..

Aside from inaccuracies such as this not being a "new" service as stated, I don't think the article is particularly well written. It does appear that the author is focusing mainly on the price and average clientele with an unfortunate stereotypical and biased attitude. That said, some of the similes did make me chuckle.

Oh well.... I will have my footman allow her access to my summer residence so I can show her how to write a TR :P - failing that tonty... do you have a report to share?

yup it was moi (well I am posh now) , once the chauffeur had delivered me via the family Rolls and I had picnicked on my smoked salmon and caviar washed down with vintage Veuve of course, they rolled out the red carp...ok stop...this TR is a complete load of ****. of the 22 other pax on my flight a mere one was 'whistle and fluted' the rest appear a very mix bag of mere mortals. AFAIK the fares are pretty close to CW ex LHR.

the gentlemans club (damn where were the pole danc,,,,,oh not THAT sort of club) lounge is very basic but the late arrival is part of the charm
and she got the first class lounge on arrival...again us plebs don't....we queued up with the pilot and cc waiting
for our bags.....

don't get me wrong its a fantastic service, one VS should be looking at IMO,and I just today booked it again for next march....wait for it , at a cost of £400 (plus 40k miles) but as for billionaires rock stars and royalty...don't they all have private jets ??
