Hi all

We have just bagged two UC seats to MCO in the recent VS sale so now we need to figure out what to do! We have a week to kill before we go to our villa for a week. We did the keys last year so could either do east or west coast this time around. We would like to stay in the south (ie not north of Orlando) as we are going in Feb so weather could be cooler further north.

Looking to the very learned folks on this site for ideas. Ft Lauderdale or St Petes? Is there enough to do in either location for a week? If not, where else do we go? Accommodation recommendations also gratefully received.

Thanks so much.

Try LaPlaya Hotel in Naples.
We have been through VH 3 times in the last 3 years.
Can not fault it.

A firm supporter of St Petes Beach, and in fact will be heading there later this year as a result of the sales ):

Only 120 miles from Orlando is does mean that it is not too far to go and the place has a laid back feel to it. I prefer it to Clearwater which IMHO can be a bit too busy and further down the coast such as Sarasota which can be a touch expensive.

Another vote for St Pete's - beautiful part of the Gulf coast. Plus you're not too far from Tampa if you fancied something more energetic. :)

Memphis and Nashville -simples. They may be North but the music and soul will warm you .
We had an awesome time as a side step from MCO flying back to MIA.

Thanks all, the plan is coming together!

Paulicklow - the LaPlaya looks awesome! Could you tell me how far it is from downtown for restaurants etc. We won't want to eat in the hotel the whole time.

Thanks so much
