Whilst checking out Sky Broadband + Talk for my mother, I noticed that this: http://www.sky.com/products/broadband-t ... lpb_life-1 is available for free if you are an existing customer. I didn't get any emails on it, well that's not true as it might have been buried in the "Sky Movies" emails that I tend to ignore, so grab one if you have Sky as it is free and zero postage.

The order page for existing Sky customers is very hit and miss at the minute for this offer, you do have until the end of Jan to order it for free though. Sky Tweeted about this issue earlier today.

They also occasionally offer the other wireless link box for free as well (plugs into the older non-WiFi Sky HD boxes making it wireless if it's no where near your router).

I really do wish Sky would improve their broadband routers though, BT's and Virgins are much better. Even the newest SR102 (the black hub) is still not great as it's basically the same as the previous white SR101 hub, but now has a built in fibre modem.

I received the free Sky Mini Connector (SD501) and it works perfectly enabling me to use all On Demand services at my 2nd (multiroom) Sky Box. It's easy to set up too. Note this only works with specific models of Sky box so do check yours first.

I also found the Sky Router (SR102) to lack wireless range so I bought an ASUS RT66U that is now hard wired via Ethernet into the SR102 with the Wireless functionality of the SR102 switched off and I get excellent coverage throughout the house. It's not cheap (£100) but worth it if you're constantly battling reception issues.
