Hi All
Following on from a recent thread about booking the ANA codeshare and not being able to use the CH, I am still thinking about the possibility of taking a 7pm flight to get an extra 6 hrs in tokyo (lol) but am just wondering how the ANA business class seat compares to Virgins UC. Does anybody have any experience of taking ANA business ? On the ANA website the seat looks a bit clinical but is it still good for getting some kip?

I travelled ANA NYC-tokyo recently in economy. It was the best economy flight I have ever taken. Service, comfort (for economy!) and food was unbelievably good. I took a look at business class and it looked lovely. You get more space than the new style UC cabins. Can't vouch for the food in business but I cannot imagine the service will be bad.

@worc0670 - thanks for the feedback.
As it seems that VS will now not be moving to HND but rather continue the ANA codeshare (which is fair enough I suppose) we are thinking about trying the ANA codeshare flight as HND is so much closer to downtown Tokyo.
If we go ahead and try the route will obviously post a TR.
Which reminds me I still need to post my return TR.

We flew ANA Business Class from Honolulu to Narita yesterday. The plane was a B767 so the seats were old fabric reclining, but had a personal TV monitor. The configuration was 2:1:2 with lots of overhead locker space.
Drink runs were plentiful and the food was excellent - I wished that had chosen the Japanese option, which looked superb, but I had the International Fillet Steak which was delicious. The inflight entertainment had plenty of English options and we were offered American newspapers.
The passengers were predominantly Japanese which meant that immigration at Narita was very quick. The crew seemed please to have English passengers on board, and some of them could speak English.
I would definitely fly ANA again, but based on this plane, Virgin UC is definitely better!!!
