More people will try and fit even larger bags into the overhead bins so get on last and find no room!

seemsfair to me if people are gonna pay bugger all for a flight, lets face it you couldn't UPS a suitcase to another country for four quid.

I read about this in today's Daily Mail - OMG I sound like Thelma Barlow's character in Dinner Ladies[:#]

The worrying thing is that the newspaper article went on to say that other airlines were considering following suit!!

Just think of the strain on the overhead lockers! People will be trying to cram everything in their carry-on's. I expect there to be mandatory weighing of carry-on bags if this does come into force! Can you imagine taking the 'brats' on holiday without at least 3 suitcases[:0]

Yes, I received the email from FlyBe about this change in their rules.

they are increasing the on board luggage to 10kg, with, if you fly their premium seats, 10kg plus a laptop.

Their hold weight will be 25Kg per person and then charge excess baggage.

this system is good for buisness men, but will cost the holiday going familiy a little more.

the full announceent is here

I can see the advantages for the businessmen just using the LCC like a bus service, but I wouldn't want the Majors to think they could get away with it:D The holiday programme last week did a bit on LHR to NYC with just carry-on, going out was all right but he still had to check his bag in for the return because he had done Xmas shopping:D
