The Indian Airline, had its inaugural from Del - Lhr on Friday.

I know this as I work with Sahara. Seems quite exciting/interesting. Using a dry leased 767 (ex-United). They will also be the only airline other than BA to operate 4 classes on the route.

Should be interesting - I know the lead-in fares will be killer. If you're interested I'll pop up some cabin shots soonest (of course if you see this as treason, I shan't ;))

Jonathan - I'd def be interested in seeing some shots of the cabin. The Sahara website isn't that great and I'd like to get an idea of what the interior looks like. (Have a few trips to DEL planned over the next 12 months).

Cheers,
Neal

I have heard the terms wet and dry leased, But don't know the distinction. Can anyone remove my ignorance?

Spot on - you can have 'damp leased' as well - which means flight deck (pilot/FO etc) but no ccrew.

Was in T1 on Thursday evening and saw the Sahara check in desks being got ready. Are they handeled by BMI?

According to the papers this weekend- they will change Indian flights forever- they are predicting that they will have the same effect as ZOOM has had on the Canadian market although of course BA/VS are saying "they will help us not hinder us" ie: they arent a threat. Interesting to see what happens

Do Jet Airways fly to Dehli or Mumbai?
ATM, there's quite a lot of competition on the Indian routes, we'll have to see how it pans out.;)
Maybe our friend has found an alternative carrier to fly with by now![}:)]
