Hi,

Does anyone now what the turnaround time is for NZ1 & 2 going to Auckland via LAX ?

I guessed at 3hrs ?

Has anyone travelled in business class? How long did it take to go through the transit lounge? Any probs getting to the Int lounge?

Thanks

Problems can arise-- all pax arriving on the 1 and 2 even if LAX isnt there final destination- have to clear US immigration- this means u all have to wait in line and get your passport stampped.

This is why so many airlines like Varig stopped doing routes via LAX as the US post 9/11 said all pax regardless of transit or not much clear immigration.

Having said this the NZ staff make it clear what you have to do. The only real problems i have seen have been pax trying to transfer off the 1 onto 51 or off 50 onto the 2- so they are doing LHR-LAX-NAN- huge lines develop at the transfer desk and they bloke all pax leaving the terminal.

Business class is the UCS with the superb Kiwi service.

Cath

If it helps, i took the N118 and the NZ2 for my SYD-AKL-LAX trip.

I bought this flight as SYD-LAX so the stopover in AKL was a pure 'change of aircraft', and it was just over an hour between arrival and departure at AKL - and yes, did go to the lounge at AKL, yes i ate their food, hogged their brandwidth and read their papers - all before getting back onboard with plenty of time to spare :)

Supplementary question on this - is the UCS seat now in widespread use on NZ? I'm looking at travelling with them to SYD, but its not worth if its a relatively standard seat.

Thanks.

Whats your routing to SYD?

If its LHR-LAX-AKL-SYD then yes you will have it till AKL. AKL-SYD will be operated by a 320 so will have the 320 business class seat.

Although sometimes the 777 operates to SYD if your very lucky.
