Im sure you are right in that the LCCs are easily comparable to BA and other large carriers due to the many cuts that have been made on Euro routes, im just an old stickler for tradition and enjoy flying and a bit of pampering whilst im at it. Last year we experienced the joys of Thompson Fly from Coventry International Airport to Amsterdam. Well firstly it isn't an airport, its three portacabins and a runway!
Yes it was cheap, but next time I would rather pay some extra and fly KLM again. I'm with HighFlyer - i like some pampering and service with my flights. The days of glamour have gone unfortunately, i would have loved to have flown then. But with some hunting around it is still possible to get some bargain fairs, particularly when you take into account travel to remote airports, silly flight times etc.
