Yes, a couple of times. As pegitt said, it is off the strip but there's a shuttle every 30 mins that will drop you at various locations on the strip.
Reasons I particularly like the Palms is....lovely soft sheets on the bed, in-room coffee maker, fluffy towels, rooms are nicely decorated, clean, spacious, the rooms we've stayed in weren't like the spectacular ones you sometimes read about here at Bellagio for example, but we get a hotel room to crash in at the end of a long day on holiday, and the Palms suits our needs.
The pool is good and the mexican restaurant is really great, plus and this is probably what makes it my favourite if I'm honest, whenever we've stayed there and gambled we have been really lucky.
Oh and it's usually really reasonably priced
