Emergency Plan initiated PRN

MA flt from BUD-PRN failed to stop on landing in heavy snow and continued off in scrub for 200m past red lights/end runway.
This was literally seconds after a miltary A320 had aborted take off.

As far as I am aware no casualties.

I have to redeploy resources to help in AEP. Probably nought about nothing though but livens up an afternoon.

Well I hope evryone is ok on the plane Iain.

Chuck,we had the great pleasure of looking at the inlaws house yesterday on TV,thankfully it was not burnt,but the were evacuated for a while.

Well there I was with my triage manual and my box of elastoplasts and a bottle of finlandia for antiseptic;), but thankfully all stood down.
Still heaving it down with snow, airport closed so I can go home early.

Surprisingly (and thankfully) emergency proceedures did kind of work ok. Now I know you may ask what the dickens are Duty free staff doing getting involved, but at this airport, the terminal, if needed becomes a triage centre and all our staff are trained in basic cocktail making first aid, but thankfully never been used:)

A/C is stuck so we need a big shovel.

Bet you wish you had gone for the islands now..last time it snowed there was...never.

Funnily enough Dave it has recently crossed my mind especially when it was -28c the other night. Barbados or Pristina DOH!

Emergency rations will cetrtainly be deployed especially with my colleague who was on said flight:D

It always used to amuse us greatly whilst sitting in the mess drining our subsidised whisky, that our fellow compatriots in the USSR air force had to lock up the anti freeze as it was used more as a beverage than its original purpose...

Your absolutely right, not sure if it still happens now but I remember when I first went to Russia many years ago it was quite a frequent occurance to see the engineers drinking various aircraft fluids:D
