Interesting that you ask - I am still waiting. I will know much later than the international applicats as I am American. I would run the London Marathon but I cannot directly register or enter a lottery; as I am American.

Anyone got any news yet?

However, legs are a wee bit sore today, just completed an 18-mile run (2:29:04) this morning, as only 6 weeks to go to the Edinburgh marathon... [/blue]:)

Good luck with that, let us know how it goes[y].

hi all,

my edinburgh marathon report...

25 min ice cold bath over - now i can tell you all how disappointed i was with my time 4:17 (or 4:18, couldn't be bothered stopping my watch...) - set off far too fast for the 1st 7 miles (absolutely crazy mile splits as low as 7:09) - i did manage to ease up, but still passed the half-marathon mark in 1:46 (far too fast) - got to the end of the cramond prom and followed up with mistake 2, i took a lucozade orange sport (no water left, or i missed it), i had about 2 gulps + then had to stop to be sick - i started running ok again, but nothing worse than having a sick taste in your mouth for the next 3 miles until the next water station at ocean terminal - 2 bottles of water later i did feel better - but for some reason my mental energy subsided, my legs were ok, i was still feeling fit, but i just could not motivate myself to finish - a mix of walk/run sent my mile splits to 12:30, even though i knew i could of easily run comfortable 9 min miles if i really wanted too (lazy or what?) [:(!]

maybe nyc marathon in november will be the time i get under 4 hours (better be, as i think that work commitments [n] will force me down to 10k's + half-marathons next year)...

Hi Guys,

I'm back from the Microsoft UK Challenge in Wales, and my team did okay considering the competition and that we were all novices - 103rd out of 125 which may not sound good, but its a real achievement for us (some of our other teams did much better in the 20-30s range) - as a team we managed to raise over £60k for the NSPCC and still counting (thank you to all those that made a contribution via the raffle tickets, the draw is very soon!). The sense of accomplishment as our team crossed the finish line was immense for us, and I'm already committed for next year now as we want to do even better.

Thanks,
Richard

I'm in NYC! This will be my first marathon. It'll be a challenge, but I'm shooting for a Boston qualifying time (3:15:59 or better for me).

All the very best, good luck, and I hope you enjoy your achievement.[y]

It seems from this thread that nearly everyone is running around all over the place - whats going on? - have your cars broken-down?

Actually, yes - the gearbox went on my car the Sunday before last [:(] Had to use my recovery service to get back from Bratfud to Swindon, and been working from home for the last week (and today). Still, you don't see me running (or walking for that matter) anywhere - in fact, I've only left the flat twice in the last 8 days :D

It's really nice to get up so late in the morning :D But all good things come to an end - the garage should be finishing it today [:(]

Cheers
