Duggy83 y) y) y) I personally want to say a big thank you for this post. This morning I was successful in booking three rooms at the Sofitel and the cost per room was only£97.56.
Without your advice I would never have thought of booking via last minute.com :)

If only hotels.com had the same deal I would have got an extra 6 FC points per £ on top of my Amex earn. But ditto Hev60, I wouldn't normally look at lastminute.com, so am grateful for the tip. It was a great saving y) y)

Humph! Just discovered lastminute.com on the Shops Away portal, missed out on nearly 600 FC miles when I booked Sofitel, how could I, expert shopper that I am, have missed that? :# (changing my name to Dopey)

Oh nooo Bretty lol
Whatta-mistakeka-to-makeka lol
But didn't know you can book hotels through shops away? Have to remember that for next time

Yes you can but I've been using hotels.com at 6 FC miles per £ and didn't know lastminute.com were registered. There's a whole load of shops connected to it gfonk, you have to search! If only amazon was, I'd be an FC miles millionaire lol.

However, the rates were extortionate for our hols this year so we're at the Sheraton Skyline this time. I have requested a runway view room.

Good luck with that :)

Although now that they've knocked down the building across the street a few rooms do have something remotely resembling a view; nothing like the Renaissance, though, which is a bit tired, to be sure, but the views from the lounge and some of the rooms are amazing.

Even though it's a bit tired how is the renaissance actually?
I think that so far based on this thread the rankings are 1 sofitel 2 the Hilton To or TV and for me personally the Radisson in 3rd place

That's odd. Know a couple who stayed recently who had a pretty good view of the runway and we saw their pictures. The reception said they have a couple of rooms with full views of the runway so I hope they aren't deceiving me. If they are I might have to go and waste a couple of hours watching elsewhere.

Thanks for the advice. We booked an executive room at the Hilton Terminal 4 on Lastminute.com this morning which was one of their Secret Hotels but was very obviously the Hilton for £100 less.
