Serious question from me, does anyone know, is there a Frequent Flyers club or similar for EasyJet?

I have looked on the net and cant find any reference to one, just thought someone on here may know?

I didn't think any of the LCC had loyalty programs. Unless they've teamed up with Tesco Clubcard. ;)

LOL Mat

Thanks for that!

Ok, I should have probably said this in the first post ...

Got the mail this morning to find a lovely 'Welcome to the EasyJet FFC' pack ... now, at first I thought Ôhuh, I havenÕt even flown EZY, never mind applying for thisÕ but I had a look at the welcome and it seemed all proper, with a route map, a list of benefits, how I earn air miles, etc etc. It looks the real thing, but I have a sneaking suspicion that itÕs a practical joke from someone who knows me.

Its very well done, i'll have to scan it in to show you, and if it wasnt for the fact that i can find no reference to an EZY FF i would have no doubts that it was real.

Hmmm ... best get my investigating hat on ... :D

Really surprised by you Qu Hoighfly - are they about to introduce UCS, have you got some secret tip about them from an air-travel insider (Floyd for example).

True Highfly, too true.

I believe this is the wbsite for the Easyjet Frequent Flyers Club.

They were considering it last year.

Very interesting.

Well that settles that then, i have officially been stitched up - and quite an effort made in that stitch up too LOL.

I cant think who did it (though there are a few close contenders) but obviously anyone who knows me knows that im a huge VS fan, and (without sounding elitist) I just donÕt do LCCÕs or Charters, so I bet they had a right giggle imagining my face when i got the envelope

It should be auctioned off shouldnt it!

It is probably the best thing i have had in the mail for quite some time. Almost tempting to call the EZY offices with a barrage of queries about their FFP to see what sort of response i get :)

VA is also my prefered airline however easyjet is my favourite domestic, the service of BMI has gone so downhill over the last few years I just get very frustrated having paid a much higher fare. I find on flights into Belfast the easyjet flights are rarely late, on most occassions they are early. In Belfast you can also purchase lounge access for £5 when travelling by Easyjet. Go on, give them a try.

LOL

Great sales pitch but i think im going to need even more convincing.

Im just such an awkward cow that i cant fly with an airline that charges me for a Baileys. Its bad enough for me doing US internals as they compare quite heavily with UK LCCs when in Y.

As stupid as it is, im a scheduled person, just cant imagine booking anything else. I recently missed out on a trip to ZRH, but the flight i was intending on going on was BA ex-LHR and was coming out at about £120 (i was booking last minute) some of the other guys who went got real cheap charters for half that price, but i just cant do it, i had a bad experience with BY in 2003 and vowed never to go Charter again, which kind of rules out LCCs

Dont worry - its a well established jibe for people who know me that one year they'll send me off somewhere on EZY just for the comic factor of seeing my face on the Orange one.

Although the way BA are heading, soon you won't be able to tell the difference! I did LHR-ZRH last week and "lunch" was a bag of crisps[:0]

Hi Luke

Yes you are right, i wouldnt have been impressed if i did get just a bag of crisps (i hope they were at least McCoys??) although the free drinkies would probably get me through the hour or so of flight time.

Thanks to Willie Walsh we might not have a choice any more (other than BMI). I know BA have been thinking of going all low cost.[:?][:(!][n]

Sarah, dont be such a snob!!! I have flown with Easyjet on a number of occasions and have to say the last 2 or 3 times have been spot on - £60 return to Venice and £50 return to Madrid - we had flights that were on time, good friendly flight attendants, a pilot on the Venice flight who came out to talk to a nervous passenger and apologised for the bumps be he "had to avoid the hedgehogs" - and who asked if the lady had flown before and she said "only once" to which the pilot replied - "same as me - just close your eyes on take off like I do and I will tell you when to open them"!!

Yes you pay for everything - but I woudl rather carry on a Starbucks and a bacon roll - at thos prices you cant complain!!

And no - there is no EZY flying club!!!

Have fun!!

I too got the orange amex thing in the post. Ended up on the fire quite quickly. No way am I going to fly with an airline that avoids hedgehogs!

Yes, there was at least a free drink. The crisps are Burts - posh handcut ones. But, as I told BA in my complaint letter, as far as food goes, I'd have been better off on EasyJet; at least I could have bought something to eat[:(!]

Have booked with EZY for an AMS trip this month, in protest.

No different to any other major scheduled carrier in the world....look at Air NZ they too have gone all low cost with a trendy deli service in Y.

The whole point is that legacy carriers need to survive on short haul routes and by offering food is a way of saving money and thus being around for longer.

Anyway who really wants a bit of food on a flight that lasts less than 2 hours- half the time its so rubbish you wont eat it at all.

Errr .. me? I cant go a few hours without eating something ... and im quite happy with the old 'manky sandwich and bag of nuts' that you used to get when i flew BA

Not to start a riot, but id much rather fly an airline that gives you a basic offering of a sandwich etc than one that you get nowt with. And both are better than the trend of bringing your own food onboard, i dont want to sit next to 'Tubby from Weymouth' chowing through a king size bucket of M&Ms :) (im joking here, but anyone who has ever had to sit next to someone who has bought their own food for the flight knows how painful this can be)

Sarah, dont be such a snob!!!

Love you too Mark!!

Im sure you are right in that the LCCs are easily comparable to BA and other large carriers due to the many cuts that have been made on Euro routes, im just an old stickler for tradition and enjoy flying and a bit of pampering whilst im at it. I just hope that my fun doesnt get erradicated as quickly as the nice sandwich on Ba seems to have [:(]

I'm quite a fan of EZY.. have flown with them lots, and had nothing but excellent service every time. The one time I missed check-in, they put me straight on the next flight.. none of those shenanigans you see on 'Airline'! ;) [Have those stupid customers never heard of loadsheets/fuel/V1 calculations???!!!]

However, I simply DESPISE the free range seating system. The argy-bargy at the check-in, and again at the gate.. you turn into a paranoid monster when you think someone with ticket 145 is sneaking into the 1-30 queue!

When EZY merged with GO, they did some trials of observing how fast pax made it to the gate and how fast they boarded on each of the two systems - seat numbers and free range. The inevitable conclusion was that the free for all resulted in a faster board, and helped with EZY's tight turnarounds.

However, I think the most important thing EZY have done is create the competitive short-haul environment in the UK. I was a frequent flyer on EZY on the INV-LUT/LGW route and over recent years BA's ticket prices have tumbled in order to compete, and now it's usually worth checking BA's prices if you are booking far in advance, as they may be cheaper than LCCs...
