For all you frequent flyers out there: I am really struggling to find any decent info about flights into Rhodes (direct from UK if poss) and if anyone can offer advice would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance folks....[:?]

Hi Oliver

Given your departure airport as Cardiff and destination as Rhodes but no idea about your travel dates - a flight only via first Choice with Thomson for 2 weeks in July/Aug = £259:

Depart Wed 19 Jul 2006
Departs: 07:10
Arrives: 13:15
Airline: Thomson
Flight: TOM6947

Return Wed 02 Aug 2006
Departs: 14:15
Arrives: 16:30
Airline: Thomson
Flight: TOM6948
£192.00
£67.00 tax
£259.00 total

Regards

Went on holiday a few months back (Sep 05) and the only flights other than charter was Olympic from LHR via Athens.

Was not a plesant trip. Would not fly Olympic again. Time keeping is not a strong point and customer services was poor.

Thanks for your comments folks - I was planning a quick break around easter time with the trouble'n'strife and sproglet, but RHO seems more difficult / expensive than I had hoped. [:#] Second choice Malta doesn't seem much better [n] (unless someone can suggest otherwise?)

Oh well, back to Butlins! [^]

Ive also done the Athens to Rhodes thing with Olympic (three times) and its a pain but not overly problematic. As long as you dont mind changing airports from the International to the Domestic (this may have changed by now I am talking 10 years ago).

Then you can expect delays. Basically write off that day and if you get lucky you may get to Rhodes before midnight.

There is also a ferry service (Dodecanese Roditis Ferries) that runs from Bodrum and a couple of the other Turkish port cities, I've docked alongside these ferries and they arent as bad as the phrase 'Turkish Ferry' suggests. Personally, out of the two options, I'd try the Olympic airlines thing.

Failing that see if you could get a flight into one of the other islands that has a ferry service to Rhodes (Symi does and there is another I think) but that might be as difficult as getting to Rhodes directly.

Oliver,
Sounds like you are looking at the same holidays I did last year. Looked at Malta and Rhodes in the end Stayed in the Hilton resort in Rhodes which was not that cheep but not that bad either. The flights with Olympic we got at a fairly good price. The Plane (Airbus 340) was almost empty on the way out.
