When we landed yesterday, Runway 1L was marked as not in use. (Big yellow X's with lights on trailers along it, etc). Not sure about 1R.
I just checked the NOTAMS for SFO - and although I can't find an active (today) one about runway 1, I did find this:
Now, given that SFO is a real chore when the fog comes in - surely, if two runways are/were out, and precision instrument approaches are out until 6th MAY - that will restrict traffic in/out of the airport? (Read : DELAYS)
(Or am I misreading it, and it's the monitoring of approach procedures that is out of action? [?])
Incidentally, (maybe entirely irrelevant though) we did seem to come in a lot higher, and touch down a little later than normal yesterday.
