Depends where you're flying to. If there's a big convention or event on in that city, hotels & airfare can go crazy (just look at Las Vegas around January or April when CES or NAB are in town).

Well the biggest thing that I know off the top of my head is the start of the NFL season.I'll hunt around see what I can dig up.

Edit..just took a look at the LVCVA website..nothing major going on,a couple of conventions of 10k+ but nothing big..so my bet would be the start of football...when were you looking to travel?

We're actually going to Vancouver, but Vegas is the closest VS gets. I priced flights up (this was in March) - to fly out 13th and back 27th - both are Wednesdays. When I originally did this, the price for PE was £711 plus taxes, it's now over £1000! My fault, I suppose, I should have snapped them up then, but I had another trip coming up at the time.

Also looked at miles plus money - that was showing, only yesterday, at around £500 for PE (I think) plus miles, of course. Today, Vegas isn't even there as an option!

I've been looking at those - none are non-stop. I have found that I can fly into New York and get a connecting flight (non-stop) with Harmony Airways - but I haven't heard of them. I was wondering if anyone on here has - I think they must operate out of Canada. To do a non-stop flight would be around 11 - 12 hours from NYC, and I really don't want to add that sort of time on, especially hard on the heels of a transatlantic flight.

My other option is to keep checking and hoping that after this current round of 'special fares', there will be another lot, but this time including Vegas. My concern is that this won't be the case - as the current offers do include my month of travel - September - but Vegas isn't on offer. Decisions, decisions! [:(]

Flight time JFK - YVR is around 5 1/2 hrs..it's around 9 hrs if you go LHR - YVR

if you want to go via JFK,depending which flight you take into JFK you may want to look at taking CX 889,the only problem with it is that it get's in at around 1.30am,however it is CX [y] and it is about half the price of everyone else [y][y].

From SFO there are alot of flight's,flight time is around 2 hrs give or take.

Also if you are a little flexible with your date's take a lok at Zoom the coach service is kind of
[:$] but the premium isn't to bad...

My preference would be to go from LHR to YVR - the problem there, of course, is that it isn't a VS route, hence all this angst! I realise that a direct flight from NYC to YVR is around 5.5 hours, which is fine - I just can't stomach the thought of another indirect flight for the internal hop, which takes, it seems, up to 12 more hours!

SFO - yes, I thought about that too - problem there is that the special flight offers are only coming up with outbound dates of 20th September - which is a bummer, since my accommodation is fixed for 16th!

Am sorely tempted to wait until the curent round of specials ends and hope it's then replaced by something that includes Vegas. A risk though..... hell, I don't know what to do! [:0] But I'll have a look at zoom....
