Looking at 3 nights in LasVegas and whilst in most towns & cities I tend to lookup availability of a Hilton first , with Vegas its a different ballgame!
I can get a special offer @ Bellagio for 2 of the 3 nights , and for a few years its been the hotel I wanted to stay at if I ever went to Vegas (although there are about 10 others running a close 2nd!).
Well, now Im heading off to Vegas for 3 nights to attend a convention... so what do I do!

The Hilton Vegas doesnt have the same ring to it as its more famous neighbours on the strip.
Is it actually "on" the strip , or is it set back & theyve simply bought a bit of land to give them a strip-frontage (I get more cynical the older i get)?

Should I go with what I know, rack up an honors earning stay & bag the HH points or book one of the better known strip hotels & go for the more complete Vegas experience (In lieu of HH points, the Bellagio is bound to get bonus points with the wife [:X]).

The Las Vegas Hilton isn't on the strip,it's on paradise which runs one block east of the strip. It sit's next to the Las Vegas convention center.

The hotel was sold last year and will not be a Hilton for much longer, honestly, there are far better hotels on the strip for the same money, look at another place, unless the convention is at the Hilton or at the Las Vegas convention center in which case it's in the perfect place.

Stayed at both the Grand Vacations Club and the Las Vegas Hilton (both are Hilton properties). Neither were much to write home about.

Good for convention center access, but not ideal for the bulk of the activity on the strip by any stretch of the imagination.

Nice to have my cynicism confirmed then [y]

Pretty much what I needed to hear, leaves me flipping a 10sided coin to narrow down the choices.
I guess if I pick any of the well known hotels I`ll not be disappointed [ii]

The saving grace of the grand vacations club is that as a residence type hotel it has no gambling machines inside. Its a kind of Oasis in a way..
