As I now have NO Mastercards or Visas that I want to use (the rest are 0% tranfer jobs that I shall be closing) I've decided to get a BMI mastercard. Should I just make a vanilla application from the BMI site, or are there any promos on? Any codes around at the moment I should use?? [?]

There is a promo of some kind doing the rounds, as a relative got cold-called by MBNA [I think] offering the BMI Mastercard, along with a 20k mile bonus for taking the card up. I'll try and find out any more details of the promotion in question & put them up here if I find anything.

Try here for the BMI Mastercard, 20k destinations miles awarded on first spend.

I have the non-fee Classic card as a back-up for my AmEx, but for a paltry £60 you can have the Standard card, netting 2 desinations miles per pound spent as opposed to the 1.5 with the non-fee card - which is still quite good. (Earning rates doubled on expenditure through BMI too).

BMI destinations rewards can be spent on VS flights or *A partners.

Thanks,
Sarah

I've applied for the card, and been accepted. Strangley, contrary to other experiences here, they mentioned the existing VA card and then lumped another 5k additional limit on the BMI card, rather than reducing the VA card. And I get the 20k miles - woohoo!
