I have still not received any communication whatsoever from MBNA about the changes to my Mastercard. I have the fee card and my annual fee has just gone through. (15/09/06)

Now I would have thought that them taking the fee would intitle me to another 12 months of miles earning (contracts and all that).

But I do know (from this site and this site alone) that all miles earning will cease from 31/12/06 on the Virgin Mastercard. My gripe is that 1. they took the fee with only 3 months left to earn miles. 2. I have had no notification of the changes.

Also my GF, a friend, and 2 collegues of mine (who all have MBNA virgin MCards)all have had no communication and (upart from me telling them) have no idea that miles will not be earnt from 2007.

This is not good enough and I would like to know how to take it further. Hell I spent over £1 Million last year on my card so I should be a "good customer"

I have had no notification as well, Ive tried to change my card to the Amex one but they said my account was not flagged for an upgrade, or they will pass mt details onto another dept, basically just fobbing me off! so basically - tough. Wrote a letter to MBNA, had a badly typed responce a week later saying they were looking into my problem and will get back to me within 5 business days, that was 3 weeks ago.

Ive not used the card this month, I am debating cutting it up and forgetting about it or do a balance transfer onto it- thats all MBNA seem to want to push to me when I call them.

I applied for an egg card online last week and it arrived today with a huge credit limit and interest free on everything until sometime in the spring in 2007.

Seems like they have it right.

Pretty par for the course, and definitely not good enough.

I'm in the same boat. However thanks to a fellow V-flyer, I received a response from MBNA stating that the upgrade offer was only open to selected customers based upon their 'spending patterns'. It also stated there would be a second 'upgrade' mailing in the future.

Still no mention of the existing Mastercard changing, or why my annual fee was deducted last month if it is due to end in December.

I believe there is a meeting arranged between MBNA, VS and a V-flyer which may provide some answers.

I also had my annual fee taken last month however after some negotiation (arguing[:I]) and talking to a ÒmanagerÓ/jumped up **** [:(!] got my fee reduced from the standard £80 to £20 [y] covering the 4 months of mile earning I have left available to me. Now all I have to do is use it to its full potential for the next three months[}:)]

Yesterday, without warning I got a mailshot from MBNA/flyingclub telling me I have been "selected" to change my card to the AMEX card, blah blah etc do it and spend by Nov 15 and get 5000 miles.

To say I am a bit miffed is a understatemnt, MBNA have still not replied to my letter, if I was told in the first place that this was being done in stages I would not have minded, but Ive basically been fobbed off and told about 3 or 4 different reasons to why I could not have the new card- only to get an invite for 1.

MBNA really need to learn how to manage customers expectations.
