Ground Transport from JFK to Times Sq

Hi All

Is there a good (Quick) way other than Limo/Taxi to make the transfer from JFK into Manhattan (times sq) and likewise on my return to EWR.

By ground do you mean not underground? Because the AirTrain and Sunbway via Jamaica station is very cheap and about 45 minutes to 42nd Street and Port Authority (8th Ave)

Cheers for the replies ......cost wasn't a major issue, I was just trying to avoid a nightmare road journey at this time of year in the middle of the day ! .... and trying to keep my wife and daughter happy by getting them their 'fix' of shopping in quick time !!!! ... would be more than happy to travel by underground.

I took this route into Manhattan yesterday - having arrived at about 5pm. Wouldn't recommend it late at night but if you're travelling fairly light then it beats a cab every time. Not sure about 45 minutes though - maybe an hour especially from T4. You could also take the LIRR from Jamaica to Penn.

I travelled this route every day (42nd)whilst working at JFK T4 and it was perfect everytime. More towards the hour mark though as Phil mentions. If you do not have a lot of luggage then this would be my preferred route.
